Capita work in partnership with Staffordshire County Council under the banner of Entrust and through this we deliver a range of support to schools and Multi Academy Trusts across the county. We are looking for someone to join the team as a Support Engineer, in this role you will cover the schools across the county to provide both scheduled and reactive IT support to both software and hardware.
We are looking for someone who ideally has some IT support experience however we would consider someone who has a great level of knowledge in this area with a customer service background instead. In return you will work within a friendly and supportive team, you will travel between schools providing extensive IT support and building a network of clients.

Job Description
What you’ll be doing:
- Help to promote Entrust Education Technologies services to increase the customer base and income levels.
Ensure the provision of high-quality technical advice and support services for all schools. - To develop, install and support Schools’ ICT systems and network infrastructure at both server and desktop level.
- Mentor other staff and ensure they are appropriately trained to enable them to meet our service requirements.
- To resolve problems relating to networks, PC hardware and software in schools by telephone, remote support or site visit.
- Ensure effective communication with schools, including planning and preparation of newsletter articles and documents for the intranet
What we’re looking for:
- Experience of Windows server 2012/2016/2019 including using Group Policies, PowerShell and basic scripting.
- Experience of supporting Microsoft Exchange 2016/2019/2022
- Excellent knowledge and experience of supporting Microsoft Office 2016/2019/O365.
- Experience of supporting educational software.
- Experience of virtual server technologies – Microsoft Hyper-V or VMware.
- Installation, configuration and support of Apple and Android devices – iMacs, MacBook’s, iPads (including Apple Configurator).
- Good knowledge of network troubleshooting – Both LAN and Wireless networks.
- Full driving licence and use of a car.
