In 2025, over 4,500 markers were trained and played a vital role in delivering this year’s marking programme. Together, you have processed and marked more than 3.75 million test papers for key stage 2 (KS2) pupils across 16,000 schools — a truly remarkable achievement.
This is all thanks to your outstanding performance and unwavering commitment to ensuring everything was ready for KS2 results day.
In partnership with our colleagues at the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA), we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in this year’s marking process.
Your dedication has made a lasting impact, and we are incredibly grateful. It has been a pleasure working with all of you.
New test operations service provider: information for markers
Due to a change in Standards and Testing Agency’s (STA) Test Operations Services contract, Pearson will lead the delivery of KS2 marking and will manage marker recruitment for the 2026 KS2 tests and onwards.
STA will update their webpage with guidance on how to become a marker for the KS2 English and mathematics tests.
Please note, Pearson will contact existing markers with more information by the end of September.
