Market Engagement and Proposals Manager
Job ID: 10103493
London
Permanent
Work From Home
We are recruiting for an exciting hybrid sales and marketing role in a high performing function of Capita that provides procurement and supply chain solutions to clients across all markets.
This unique position requires the individual to lead on marketing activity to improve brand recognition and drive new sales leads, as well as support the sales team on important bids and proposals to help drive revenue.
We are looking for an ambitious, highly collaborative and proactive individual with good experience in sales or marketing who will make a big impact on a developing sales and marketing function.
This is a home based role - with a requirement to travel to London a minimum of once a fortnight for team meetings. There may be a requirement for additional travel on an infrequent basis where projects require it. Travel expenses will be paid for by Capita.
As part of our commitment to diversity, we recognise that we currently have lower numbers of female staff in our growth team. We therefore actively encourage applicants who are female to apply for this role.
Job Description
This will be a hybrid role, with your focus being in two areas:
Marketing: Forming and executing our marketing strategy to raise our profile within target sectors, and promoting our services via multiple channels and approaches
Proposals: Supporting the sales team in executing bids and proposals including coordination and drafting bid responses, and creating professional visually appealing sales collateral
The marketing element will be the day-to-day priority, however during peaks in bid / proposal activity we will need you to reduce the time spent on marketing to help sales leads with important bids and proposals.
As a dynamic growth function we work very closely as a tight knit team, constantly adapting our approach and constantly helping each other out. As an important member of this team, you will sometimes also need to be dynamic in supporting other members of the team in their roles to help execute our business priorities.
Marketing
You will have ownership for the development and execution of our marketing strategy – working under the guidance and direction of (and supported by) the Client Services Director and liaising closely with Capita’s Group Marketing function.
Key responsibilities to include:
Development of a new long-term marketing strategy with the key objectives of raising our profile in target markets, and generating new sales leads
This will include the exciting role of helping to develop our international growth strategy
Oversee and coordinate the execution of this strategy within the constraints of the business (i.e. budget, capacity and capability)
Manage the marketing budget effectively
Developing visually appealing marketing collateral
Working with the Capita web team and our wider growth function to continuously improve our website
Planning and coordinating marketing campaigns – either independently led or supporting campaigns led by the central Group Marketing team
Supporting marketing readiness for conferences and events – either independently led or supporting events led by the central Group Marketing team
Attending conferences and events with our sales leads where appropriate
Managing our Social Media channels and coordinating or generating content to increase our online presence
Reporting on success and key metrics for marketing activity
Proposals
Work with the sales team to analyse client needs and help formulate the structure of, and draft content for bids and proposals.
Working with the sales team, coordinate bid processes including internal stakeholders such as client delivery, commercial and finance teams.
Using marketing driven insights - work with our Market Partners and sales leads to support development of new product and service offerings for clients
What we're looking for :
We are looking for a friendly team player with a positive outlook who is willing and able to learn quickly from those around them, working as part of a tight knit growth team, and who is results and impact focused.
Experience and qualifications
An undergraduate degree as a minimum.
As a minimum you should have three years’ experience working in a role with similar requirements covering either marketing or bid/proposal writing – it is ok if not all requirements are covered (e.g. if the previous roles were marketing only or sales only).
Experience of working in either a consultancy, or a procurement and supply chain environment is desirable but not essential.
Essential attributes
Strong creativity – we need someone who is strong in creating visually appealing and professional looking documents such as proposals and marketing materials
Good understanding of a multitude of marketing principles and methodologies
Excellent writing / English language skills – the ability to take information given by subject matter experts and write compelling proposals / bid responses
Highly proficient in MS Word and PowerPoint, proficient in MS Excel

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
