We are looking for an enthusiastic Housing Benefit Liaison Senior Officer to join the Westminster Benefits Contract Support Team (CoST) to establish, maintain and promote good lines of communication with relevant stakeholders and to support the contract by carrying out coaching, mentoring and quality checking of staff members.
The successful candidate will need experience of working in a benefits environment and a sound understanding of the regulations relating to Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support.
This is a remote role.
Job Description

What you'll be doing :
- Respond to all enquiries, within agreed timescales, delegating as needed to the relevant team for urgent attention and feedback
- • Arrange and attend meetings with Stakeholders as required
- To give assistance and guidance through coaching and mentoring to newly appointed and existing assessment officers as required
- To undertake pre-assessment and assessment quality checking duties.
- Undertake Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support Assessments
- Encourage and become involved in additional activities and projects as requested by the Line Manager such as cold reports and system testing.
- To raise any issues that may affect the contract with Line Manager and/or Benefits
What we're looking for :
- Have previous experience in a Housing Benefits/Council Tax Support environment
- Able to multi-task and self-prioritise whilst working to a high level of accuracy and thoroughness
- Have excellent customer care and written/verbal communication skills
- Competent using MS Outlook, Word & Excel
- Have an in-depth knowledge of Housing Benefits/Council Tax Support legislation
- Enthusiastic, friendly and confident with a positive attitude
