The Business Support Manager has ownership of multiple different areas of work including Risk and Control, Business Continuity, Driving improvement in Operational information, system support & administration and people management support of a finance team.
Direct reports of up to 7, across different skilled teams, this role involves hands on management of risk, which leads on identifying risks, assessing control procedures, monitoring compliance with policies and regulations, implementing controls to mitigate risks, conducting internal audits and assessments, producing contractual reporting to our senior management team and providing recommendations for process improvements.
You will need to provide independent and evidence-based assurance to management and other stakeholders that their key risks are being managed effectively and that business continuity plans are robust by evaluating the effectiveness of controls in place and providing recommendations for process improvements.
Whilst this role is home based, travel to our Coventry office would be required at least twice per month.
Responsibilities
Work with management and operational teams to prioritise information needs
Take ownership for collating and analysing data, and identifying trends
Prepare management reports
Test business continuity plans
Ensure documentation is up to date
Identify process and procedure improvements
Maintain risk indictors, metrics and other metrics
Assist with the risk management framework
Lead in the annual programme of assurance work
Conducts tests in line with contractual requirements
About You
Proficient in risk or audit assessment methodologies
Understanding of business continuity procedures
Strong stakeholder management and ability to effectively upwards manage
Self-motivated
Analytical
