We helped Baltic Creative CIC to win funding to develop flexible, affordable workspaces for new creative and digital businesses, attracting much-needed jobs and investment to Liverpool.

Liverpool is world-famous for its creativity, and Baltic Creative CIC is helping to continue that legacy by supporting the city’s next generation of creative and digital talent. The company’s mission is to create flexible, affordable spaces for new businesses and, in the process, help to drive economic growth.

These developments provide exciting spaces for digital and creative entrepreneurs, invigorating neighbourhoods and creating networking opportunities for young companies to collaborate and grow.

Baltic Creative CIC has worked with Capita since 2009 to secure funding for its ambitious growth plans. When it unveiled plans to create new developments in Liverpool, it turned to us for help in securing vital government funding.

Our experts used their years of experience in property, funding and regeneration to build strong business and economic models to support the business case for redeveloping Digital House into a state-of-the-art home for new creative businesses, ensuring that it met the government’s preferred format for funding applications.

Digital House opened in 2019 and has become a hub for fast-growing creative and digital businesses in the city. It currently houses 17 digital companies, including games developers, app builders and Liverpool Cares, a non-profit organisation that promotes social connections between young and old residents.

“I really like the atmosphere and ethos of Baltic Creative. It’s a community, rather than just being offices. We’ve done business in terms of hiring people to do websites, marketing – we’ve found people who can do what we need. If we’d been in a normal office, we’d have to go and find these people, so it’s great that it’s all brought together here in the one place,” said Robert Kennedy, the founder of Simul Software.

With Capita’s help, Baltic Creative CIC has increased the amount of space that it manages from 45,000 to 118,000 square feet. Our involvement has helped it to become an important player in one of Liverpool’s key growth sectors, while providing flexible, affordable offices for new businesses.
