Viridian, Ireland’s leading energy company, has awarded a two year ICT contract extension to Capita Managed IT Solutions.

The contract has been signed ahead of Capita’s current contract expiring in September 2017 and further cements the strong relationship which has been in place since 2005. It also reaffirms Capita’s experience and expertise in delivering large scale and complex ICT services and solutions to the energy and utility sector throughout the UK and Ireland.

Capita will continue to provide a full managed service for an additional two years to Viridian and its subsidiary companies, which include Power NI and Energia.

The service ensures support of business critical operations including trading and settlement, billing and customer care solutions which underpin the Viridian, Power NI and Energia businesses.

It also includes provision of a service desk, service management, desktop and field support and on premise data hosting within Capita’s data centre.

Ed Brown, Managing director, Capita Managed IT Solutions, said: "We are thrilled Viridian has chosen to stay with Capita for their IT infrastructure and managed service support. This contract extension is a testament to the long-standing relationship Capita has with Viridian as well as our continued commitment to service excellence we deliver. We will continue to provide value for money as well as a reliable and effective managed service, while at the same time offering significant capacity to support Viridian’s growth over the coming years."
