The experts in the management of pupil information for schools, Capita SIMS, will unveil its next generation, cloud-based management information system (MIS) at Bett 2018 (stand B190).
SIMS Primary is set to completely transform the way primary schools use information. Rather than school staff having to go searching for answers to their questions about a child’s achievement, behaviour or attendance, they are proactively presented with the information they need on any device to provide targeted learning to their class and groups. With SIMS Primary, teachers and school leaders can raise outcomes across the school as they can instantly see when their pupils may be in need of additional support and can step in immediately to help.
A unique Twitter-like news feed for each child shows the latest updates and information so teachers are always up to date and simple graphs and colour coded charts allow a teacher or the headteacher to see how individual children or target groups are performing against expectations.
Proactively presenting teachers with data will drastically reduce the workload associated with recording and retrieving information on pupils.
Cloud access means SIMS Primary is available to teachers and school leaders, whether they are in the classroom or out of school, for easy reviewing or entering of data. In addition, using the cloud saves time and money as data back-ups and upgrades are automatic and the need for onsite servers and maintenance is removed.
Graham Cooper, head of education at Capita SIMS, said: “A school’s MIS needs to empower teachers, not hold them back. When good information is put in the hands of teachers and school leaders it can transform a school and pupil outcomes. SIMS Primary is the tool that will achieve that.”
