Capita has been selected to partner with Harrow Council to deliver flexible revenues and benefits processing services at times of peak demand.
The five-year contract is worth £4.1 million over the full life of the contract, with the potential to extend for one year.
Capita will provide Harrow Council with access to additional resources when the workload requires it, for example for legislative changes, specific projects or during workforce shortages.
We will create better outcomes by maximising the efficiency of collections, helping to deliver value and in turn protecting front-line services.
Simon Freeman, Managing Director, Capita Local Public Services, said: “Having partnered successfully with Harrow Council on an interim basis, we are delighted to have been awarded this contract.
“Capita’s track record and scalable support expertise puts us ahead of our competitors in delivering vital support services such as this. This win is another example of Capita helping to drive efficiencies and create value in the local authority market.”
This win is the latest success for Capita’s local public services business, which has recently announced new contracts with Westminster City Council, Brent Council, and Ealing Council, as well as a number of other arms-length management organisations (ALMOs) across London.
The contract supports Capita’s transformation plan, put in place in 2018 to ensure the company is a good corporate citizen, a responsible and reliable partner for clients, an innovative industry leader in software and technology. It also supports Capita’s new focus within the local government market, as clients move away from large-scale transformation partnerships to more transactional services.
