Capita plc today announces that its Digital Development Centre (DDC) has been assessed at Maturity Level 5 on the Capability Maturity Model® Integration (CMMI) for capabilities in the services and development categories.
CMMI is a capability improvement framework that provides organisations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improves their performance. Maturity Level 5 is the highest level of award that an organisation can achieve, indicating that an organisation is performing at an ‘optimising’ level.
Capita’s assessment process included:
- An appraisal of both Development and Services functions
- Appraisal of the company’s Agile, DevOps and Digital capabilities
- In-depth analysis of the business impact resulting from the company’s mature delivery practices
The CMMI appraisal was based on Capita’s software capability to act as a transformation engine to future-proof organisations and its DDC in-house innovation methodology ‘Pocathon’ – to develop new products based on ‘real world’ applications. Using hackathon principles, subject matter experts and digital innovators, Pocathon enables Capita to produce viable ‘proofs of concept’ to drive customer adoption of digital innovation.
The appraisal process covered the work of 1100 employees of the Digital Development Centre of Capita Software in Pune and Bangalore, India.
The appraisal, completed through an assessment, was led by Dr. Dan He, high maturity lead appraiser from Nanjing CMMThinking Technology.
Capita joins the elite list of companies that achieved Maturity Level 5 for both services and development categories.
