Capita today announces that it has been appointed as HM Revenue and Customs’ (HMRC) new automation partner for the Automation Delivery Centre (ADC) contract.
Following a transition period, the initial two-year framework will start on 1 July 2022 and HMRC has the option to extend it for up to two further years. The full four-year partnership could be worth up to £20 million.
The partnership will see Capita working with HMRC to develop, deploy and support robotic software and other automation tools to make HMRC’s processes simpler and drive operational efficiency.
Capita will harness its significant consulting and transformation expertise to support HMRC and improve its automation processes.
Technologies the business will deploy include process automation software and machine learning programmes. Capita will also draw on the support of leading automation experts to reduce the number of repetitive tasks HMRC’s people perform. This will enable them to focus on the customer-facing aspects of their roles.
Al Murray, CEO Capita Public Service, said:
“We are delighted to be HMRC’s new automation partner for the Automation Delivery Centre contract. This is an innovative partnership and we will utilise our significant consulting, transformation and digital services expertise to deploy leading edge machine learning and automation technology to make HMRC’s processes and services more efficient.
“Along with other key suppliers, we will support HMRC to fulfil its ambition of becoming the leading UK Government Department for automation and harness the power of technology to make things simpler and easier for people accessing their services and those running them.”
Notes to editors:
The contract value is based on expected volumes, and therefore treated as transactional revenue. There is no IFRS 15 transaction price (order book) given it is a framework agreement.
