Anglia Revenues Partnership (ARP), which collects council tax and delivers housing benefit for seven local authorities across East Anglia, has been announced as the latest customer to sign up to Capita Software Services’ new automation software.

Capita recently launched the automation function to its One Revenues and Benefits software, helping clients reduce claim processing times to less than two minutes – which can be 20 times quicker than processing the same form manually.

Automation enables clients to deliver further efficiency by releasing employees from the time-consuming tasks of data entry and manual processing for lower risk claims, instead allowing them to focus on the more complex claims requiring greater scrutiny to ensure protection at the 'claim gateway'.

ARP will be using automation software for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support (new claims and change in circumstances), as well as for Council Tax discounts and exemptions.

Anthony Singleton, Managing director, Capita’s One suite of software, said: "Automation has a number of benefits to the taxpayer, not least of which is that it can provide easier and faster access to benefit entitlements for those most in need.

Capita’s highly flexible solution can be configured to meet the needs of clients. ARP is among the first to benefit from this unique offering, which will provide a full claims audit trail to help them better serve local authorities and the taxpayer."

Local authority customers can now submit their claim online and receive confirmation of their entitlements automatically. The automation capability is fully configurable to manage any claim type, including those subject to risk-based verification.
