Graham ‘Roy’ Rogers talks about his role as Training Delivery Support Team Manager at the Royal Navy Submarine Training Centre (RNSTC).

After a rewarding 23-year career in the Royal Navy Submarine Service I’ve been fortunate enough to stay close to my passion for the last 17 years as a civilian, most recently working for Capita supporting the delivery of the Royal Navy Submarine Training Centre (RNSTC).

My role involves ensuring that support is provided to all Phase 1 and 2 courses in the Royal Navy Submarine School. I’m very proud to lead a team of Sonar defence trainers, Simulator support staff, a Navigation/Radar defence trainer, and a Weapons Engineering defence trainer.

Developing students from their first day through to achieving the required training standard gives me immense pride as a job well done.

The move to the new RNSTC has been in development for many years and is now becoming an exciting reality. To work in a state of the art training facility, preparing for the support of my successor after I retire, offers a great working environment and an opportunity to play a significant part in the training of future submariners.
