Hear from Georgina, a recruitment supervisor at Capita, to find out how we help create a new perspective for Army candidates.
I’m a recruitment supervisor for Capita Recruiting Partnership Project (RPP). The team I work within is responsible for supporting candidates with their entire application, from the moment they apply until the moment they start training. We ensure the 12-month experience is as positive and clear as possible, because we know it’s a long commitment for candidates to be making.
The other side to my role is going into schools and universities to promote different Army careers, whilst also changing any negative perceptions that people may have about the Army. I love being able to engage and get to know new people at careers fairs and presentations, as well as doing virtual nurture events to support the candidates through their initial interview and teach them more about the process. We work closely with the Army to bring candidates in and visit different sectors so they can get a real feel for the job they’ll be doing.
Another great benefit of working for Capita RPP – and the key difference from other recruitment roles – is that we don’t source candidates. This means these candidates are the ones to submit their application to us, and we aren’t the ones searching for them. With such a life-changing step, we want to make our candidates feel that the decision is entirely their own, and we’re here to support them completely when they’re ready to make that decision.
Since I joined in 2017, I’ve become proud to be recruiting for an organisation like the Army, and I’ve really enjoyed my role here at Capita. With no shortage of varied opportunities, if you’re willing to learn and collaborate and have a bright, open mind, then this role could be perfect for you.
