As the Payroll Administrator you will provide a full HR & Payroll administrative service including the accurate and timely processing of a wide range of data, across multiple customers in line with deadlines and Service Level Agreements ensuring correct payments and deductions are made.
This is a home based part-time role – 15 hours a week – can be 2 full days or spread across multiple days to suit
Job Description
What you’ll be doing:
- Completing the on-boarding process for new customers and update payroll information to avoid pay issues.
- Maintaining and updating employee records for accurate and timely payments and deductions.
- Handling HR & Payroll queries, support colleagues, and ensure timely resolutions.
- Understanding pension schemes to manage bandings and deductions.
- Completing and submitting pension forms (opt-outs, opt-ins, retirement requests) and support related queries.
- Following client policies to accurately apply absence schemes to records.
- Processing payments and deductions for employee benefit schemes (e.g., Child Care Vouchers, Cycle to Work, Annual Purchase Schemes).
What we’re looking for:
- Previous operational Payroll experience
- Strong administrator
- Experience/knowledge of Fire and Rescue Terms and Conditions of Employment
- Good IT skills, knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Numerate and literate, with excellent accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritise and organise workload effectively within a deadline reacting calmly and effectively to constant changing work situations
