Legal Counsel – Employment (5 years PQE)

We’ve got a fantastic opportunity for a UK qualified employment lawyer to join our team as Legal Counsel. You’ll be supporting the Legal Director (Employment) in handling of large employment tribunal caseloads.
Ideally with in-house experience but we can consider a move from private practice. This role would suit 5 years PQE. It’s a great role with room to grow and develop.

Job Description
What you’ll be doing:
- Preparing disclosure lists and drafting witness statements, legal correspondence, and advice notes.
- Providing accurate, timely, and pragmatic employment legal advice to the internal HR teams and other stakeholders on disciplinaries, grievances, sickness absence management, redundancies, contractual terms, TUPE and trade union matters.
- Adopting and developing the use of generative AI and other legal tech with a view to driving efficiencies.
- Supporting the Legal Director in matters and pro-actively briefing them on areas of concern to ensure a “no surprises” culture.
- Attending meetings with internal stakeholders and presenting at those meetings.
What we’re looking for:
- Qualified UK lawyer with strong track record in employment law especially in dealing with a busy and varied caseload of employment litigation.
- Sound legal, commercial, business, and negotiating acumen with strong technical legal skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Articulate drafting. Attention to detail.
- Keen to develop use of generative AI to drive efficiencies in day-to-day work
- Highly responsive, proactive, solution-oriented attitude to resolving issues in a pragmatic and swift way.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
