Job Description

The Data Centre Engineer support client workloads, fault diagnosis and escalation as appropriate. This role is part of our on call team and requires a rolling shift pattern of four on, four off, days and nights.

What you will be doing:

  • Responsible for administering and managing a Tivoli job scheduling tool that is used to manage business critical batch jobs for client contracts
  • Running and maintaining business schedules and respond to any failures, rerunning jobs, cancelling as appropriate
  • Workload instigation & completion of overnight batch profiles
  • Monitor production batch workload processes
  • Create and modify scheduling objects, job streams, schedule new workloads, forecast future workloads
  • Create and maintain reports about production workloads
  • Batch/Script failure management and escalation to support teams and client teams as appropriate 24x7x5
  • Provide break-fix support in a standby rota for Overnight Batch Runs
  • Completion of Operational and client reports within agreed SLA timescales

What we are looking for:

  • Windows server experience in 2016 or above
  • Experience of working in a 2nd or 3rd line server support environment
  • IT proficiency in the use of Microsoft Applications suite
  • Ability to work under pressure and to specific deadlines, and to be flexible regarding working hours
  • Proven team player, able to work effectively and closely with others.
  • Ability to learn and follow processes but also able to identify and suggest improvements to work processes
  • Good communication and problem solving skills
