Capita today announces the appointment of Manpreet Singh to the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead a newly formed, company-wide technology shared service.
Manpreet will report directly to Chief Executive Officer, Jon Lewis, and will be a member of the company’s Executive Committee.
Capita’s new technology shared service unites our IT and software development capability and resource spanning all Capita. Previously, most of these digital capabilities were spread around each of Capita’s six divisions, but they will now be centralised.
Bringing these digital capabilities together will enable Capita to further simplify and strengthen its IT organisation, share resource, reduce third-party spend and, most importantly, build superior products and services for our own employees, clients and customers. This simplification will form a key part of the company’s wider transformation strategy announced in March to reduce from six divisions down to three, in order to build a more focused, client-centric, streamlined organisation.
Manpreet has more than 25 years’ experience managing technology-led organisations and delivering digital transformation. He is currently Managing Director of our IT Services business and, prior to this, he held a number of other technology leadership positions at Capita. Before Manpreet joined the company in 2010, he spent eight years at the technology company Vertex, working in India, the UK, and as Chief Information Officer for North America.
Manpreet will begin his new role in July. He lives and works in Pune, India, making him the first ever member of Capita’s ExCo to be based outside the UK. Capita employs around 7,000 people in India.
Manpreet said: “I’m really looking forward to starting my new role and playing my part in helping take Capita onto the next phase of its transformation journey.
“Creating a pan-Capita technology shared service will help us improve best-practice ways of working, bring together disparate capabilities and, most importantly, deliver services to our clients in a way that suits them best.”
Jon Lewis said: “I’m delighted to be appointing Manpreet to Chief Technology Officer, a role to which he is perfectly suited, following more than a decade at Capita in a series of senior IT management positions.
“Technology remains a central part of Capita’s future, both in creating innovative digital solutions for our clients and in ensuring secure, resilient and predictable IT service delivery for our own businesses.
“So, it’s vital that our technology transformation mirrors the wider transformation that Capita is undergoing and that we have someone of Manpreet’s calibre to lead it.”
