Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Scrum Master or Agile Coach to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in a product-centric environment and will play a crucial role in embedding Agile practices across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the squad adheres to the software engineering process while facilitating the removal of blockers.
  • Motivate and enhance existing teams, maintaining a cross-delivery view of risks and dependencies.
  • Mentor and optimize squads, scaling Agile methods and practices across the team.
  • Support the definition, structuring, and implementation of Agile practices throughout Capita Government Services Digital.

Experience / Knowledge Required:

  • Proven experience on AI delivery projects and familiarity with AI concepts.
  • Extensive experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach delivering digital products with Agile methods and practices.
  • Proficiency in using various techniques to focus plans and roadmaps on value.
  • Ability to work closely with technical team members to plan an appropriate approach.
  • Experience aligning multiple teams of differing Agile maturity levels.
  • Track record of delivering products and services in line with Government Digital Services (GDS) standards and methods.
  • Ability to quickly embed and gather trust within established teams to enable rapid improvements and an increased pace of delivery.
  • Experience scaling Agile across multiple teams and locations, with dependencies on other programs and external partners or clients.
  • Expertise in coaching multiple teams in Agile ways of working.
  • Strong understanding of software development practices and Agile software testing techniques.
  • Proficiency in backlog tracking, burn-up/burn-down metrics, velocity, etc. (using ADO, JIRA, or similar).
  • Active involvement in Agile communities.
  • Experience working with remote or distributed teams.
  • Ability to facilitate the transition from traditional Waterfall to Agile working, understanding both cultures and how to gain stakeholder buy-in.
  • Proven ability to lead transformation to Agile practices or continuous improvements in newly established organizations.
  • Proactive in raising issues and driving change.
  • Passionate about learning new things and improving existing challenges.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Eligibility for SC Clearance is essential
